Great Food! clam chowder hit the spot and calamari tacos were delicious. If you like finger food and something light, then the "Calamari Tacos" are the way to go!

I was very disappointed in the way that I was greeted in by the gentleman with the glasses that was at the door. He had no smile, did not know how to greet people into the Establishment. No it was totally different experience with the Asian girl at the bar, she smiled and said hello like a normal human being and had a beautiful smile on her face as she greeted me to the bar but unfortunately I had a bad experience from the moment when I walked in so I decided not to stay and left the restaurant after one beer and decided to take my business somewhere else so no I will not recommend this place at all unless they get some young vibrant people with big smile that know how to greet people in, and make the customer feel comfortable I won’t be back.

Calamari and fries were great! Think they could’ve done better with keeping our bread baskets full. It was also kinda dark inside the restaurant. The restaurant isn’t real high on my list but getting calamari from their to-go counter is a must if you’re on the wharf during the day.

The food was great and the service was outstanding. Everything was set up for Covid and I felt safe.

went in for dinner tonight group of 5. manager was not welcoming or polite. did not even make eye contact with us when showing the table, just a grunt instead of words. service very slow. one cup of soup came, then 10 minutes later the oysters that were ordered as an appetizer arrived. waiter took our glass of water to refill, 10 minutes later we had to ask for water as he didn't bring it back. main meal was slow to arrive and the food was average. an elderly gentleman walked in and wanted to sit outside, there was no tables and the manager spoke to the gentleman in quite a rude and unfriendly way which we all thought was disgusting, the older gentleman had parkinsons. our waiter did not say enjoy your meal and did not ask if food was enjoyable, no salt pepper of vinegar brought to table we had to ask. overall very unhappy with the visit and a complete was of 140 dollars. i will not be back and will advise others to avoid when such good restaurants are available on the ward.

99 cents oysters were the driver here. (Max dozen per table) otherwise the fish and chips were good.

I eat in this spot a lot since I work close by. I have to say their customer service is always awesome and they keep the place clean regularly. Pricing is convenient and they serve generous portions.

My sister and I went to whale watching discovery whale company and after that abalonetti people standing oudside come have a wonderful lunch so we believed and ordered abalone and choipini dish both of them pretty expensive dish and omg how awful we couldn’t eat it abalone was so hard over breaded very bad and chiopini was so bad few calamari crabs that was it broth is so bad we thought food were seating there hours , please don’t go there

The oysters are so fresh, I had to have 2 orders of 6! Even want more but have to restrain myself 😊😋the pizza we had was also good. It's a charming place where you get good service and very friendly staff. Will definitely be back, too, on this place 👍🏻

Yummie, what a great find in Monterey. I went for the abalone, which was awesome. And while I am not the biggest calamari fan I eyed and tried them too and will be back for more. They really know what they are doing.

Went there today an i must say i will be going back our meals were so delicious an the service was out standing! The prices were great! I really enjoyes our meal an i will be back! I loved our salad an the desserts were yummy i give it 5 stars up!

We ate at their smaller location at the beginning of the wharf, ordered the calamari, fried prawns and fish and chips. The food was excellent, perfect moist, flaky fish. Our server was Brenda, super friendly very pleasant girl. Definitely recommend. The price per dish was about 9 bucks for a pretty big amount of food.

The food was good, great location, fair prices. However, the service was among the best service we have ever had anywhere. We felt welcome from the time we meandered past the restaurant to the time we left. We will definitely be back when we come back to Monterey.

Took our crabs here after a fishing trip. Jack was so pleasant, price was fair, and they set us up to eat a few of them on the spot. Paired with some garlic fries it was an amazing way to enjoy our fresh catch!

We decided to play tourist and took a walk in Monterrey fisherman wharf. We have been here many time but did not try restaurants here. It's beautiful outside, so we chose outdoor seating. Service was okay, food was not fresh. I ordered the captain plater, and the fish have a bad odor, and not enough food on the plate. Three stars for the location only.

The calamari was good but two of us got sick that night.

Awesome food, good beer and great service! I got crab cakes, a clam chowder bread bowl, crab sandwich. My wife got meat loaf and we got kids meals too. There's nothing I'd complain about, highly recommend!

The Calamari was surely the highlight and most recommend. Service was excellent. It was my wife’s birthday and the waiter was so nice to surprise her with a complimentary cake on the house.

Delicious food that's well worth the price and recognition it gets! The customer service is absolutely outstanding for starters. Moreover, all of their food options are great and they serve high quality alcoholic beverages. A must eat type of place in Monterey!

Favorite place for calamari

Loved the service from all staff. Felt like a family owned restaurant in a small town. Food was good. Prices were good, compared to the other places on the wharf.

Stopped in here on a Sunday afternoon since they had a sign out advertising 99 cent oysters.The wife had the bbq squid and had the chowder bread bowl, with a dozen oysters for an appetizer. The oysters tasted fresh with a mellow slightly sweet flavor. Also, they were small to medium-sized, which we prefer when eating on a half shell.The chowder bread bowl...eh. But, it's not like any of the places around the wharf have anything much better or worse. Same goes for the bread. Use your money towards other seafood options on the menu.Wife had the BBQ squid. That was freaking delicious! The squid wasn't over cooked and the garlic wine sauce was awesome. I kept tearing my bread bowl just to dip in her sauce. Definitely worth the $15.Oh, also had a cannoli. The pastry was stronger than a fortune cookie...

Purchased the clam chowder, cheeseburger and firecracker calamari. The clam chowder is delicious. The burger was not so good with no flavor whatsoever. The calamari is nothing above average.

Food was fantastic, service quick and courteous. I had the full antipasto plate. Delicious and more than I could finish. Outdoor seating with a view of the harbor and adequate room between tables. Our first dining out since March.

So this restaurant must have a little hut restaurant to the side which we went to with same Owner, the restaurant good food but this little side restaurant which my charge came from on my credit card, I am sad to think both Related, anyway I ordered fish and chips the tray was 5 inches by 4 inches I got 2 pics of fish and chips, the fish was 3 inches by 1 1/2. and fries very dry, I was going to cancel my order but took family there so paid the $28.00 I always take a picture of my food but I was so disappointed I just apologized to my company stating I made wrong choice never going there again. I have gone to 90%of the restaurant there, this little hunt very disappointing to what the big restaurant sells.Never going back!!.😑😑👎

I tried this place for the swordfish dish and it was okay. The servers were polite and quick. The patio had a decent view. The fried calamari was good (best part of meal). The swordfish was just okay. The grill flavor overpowered the fish and the sauce had no detectable effect. The vegetables were prepared well and somewhat outshined the swordfish. I did not try any drinks.

Fantastic food as always. Covid precautions were taken. They cleaned after every guest and were super friendly.

Food was delicious. Ordered the Captain's Platter and the Wave Rum Runner. Oh holy deliciousness. We did have to wait about 30 minutes for a table but it was exceptionally well worth the wait. For anyone looking for the best that Monterey Wharf has to offer. Than drop by Abalonetti Bar and Grill and taste everything they have to offer. It's all delicious.
